SAVVY SHOW STARTER (always locally recorded!)
The Shambles -- Flannigan's Circus (v/a Candy Floss: The Lost Music Of Mid-America; Weekend)

This compilation of lesser known mid-to-late-'60s local rock and pop on Minneapolis' Candy Floss label is a worthy companion to the Soma "Big Hits Of Mid-America" compilation that surfaced briefly a decade ago. Bands on the Candy Floss label included the Shambles, T.C. Atlantic, the Avanties, Eric Marshall & The Chymes, Seraphic Street Sounds and the Hot Half Dozen, among others. This particular track by the Shambles bears a very strong resemblance to the British style of psych of the period.

The Moving Sidewalks -- Every Night A New Surprise (TMS: The Pre-ZZ Houston Roots; Lone Star)
