TWO NEW ONES this week, both from Bloodshot. First is the latest from Graham Parker (and typically wonderful), "Don't Tell Columbus." Also delivering the goods is John Rauhouse's third album, "Steel Guitar Heart Attack." (Three tracks here feature lead vocals by Neko Case, Sally Timms and Kelly Hogan as well.)

For 15 years now Radio Rumpus Room has been broadcast Fridays at 9-10:30 p.m. on KFAI Fresh Air Radio, FM 90.3 Minneapolis and 106.7 St. Paul. The show streams live on the Internet; our RealAudio archives will return on April 2, fingers crossed. Just visit the RRR web page anytime to listen to this noise and accompanying yakkin' by Ron and Jean.

SAVVY SHOW STARTER (always a local artist!)
The Victors -- Gloria
(Victorious 1964-1966; Arf Arf)

Litter-mate-to-be Denny Waite sang it as he heard it: G-L-O-O-R-A. Studio time was used up and it didnt occur to the band to have him re-do the flub, so this was never released at the time. Six months later Chicago's Shadows Of Knight cut a similar take on this Them cover that was certainly no better than the Victor's. Rock history records that the SOK had a major hit with it. A once-upon-a-time surf band, the Victors were founded by another pre-Litter member, bassist Jim Kane.
