The staff has revised their earlier estimate and now tells us that automated archiving is unlikely to return before the rollout of the new website, slated for April 2. OUCH -- our disappointment should be evident... However, Radio Rumpus Room is continuing to manually archive all of our shows; it just takes us about 3-4 weeks to do so. Check out the archives page at www.radiorumpusroom.com and you will be able to hear what we've been up to since the KFAI website exploded long months ago. For 15 years now Radio Rumpus Room has been broadcast Fridays at 9-10:30 p.m. on KFAI Fresh Air Radio, FM 90.3 Minneapolis and 106.7 St. Paul. The show streams live on the Internet; our RealAudio archives will return sometime in Februrary, fingers crossed. Just visit the RRR web page anytime to listen to this noise and accompanying yakkin' by Ron and Jean. |
Playlist for Friday, February 16, 2007
This was our 5th annual "Big Beat Badger Blowout" -- a tribute to the rockin' sounds of Wisconsin from the decade 1957-67. This year we zeroed in on the noise eminating from mighty Cuca Records in the small farming community of Sauk City. Hats off to Jim Kirchstein and the music he's left us! We had multiple possible sources for a good number of these tracks, so have listed those CDs and LPs at the end of this playlist. You can see cover scans of all of these, as well as the complete tracklists at our Bird Dance Beat site. Look for "Wisconsin compilations." All songs played were recorded at Cuca Records in Sauk City, Wisconsin. Most were released on the Cuca label, although a number were on the Cuca subsidiary labels Sara and Night Owl. With one or two exceptions we have provided the artist's hometown and the year of release for all the songs played tonight. SAVVY
