Latest word from the staff is that we will see automated archiving return sometime in February. Yeah, we are disappointed about this whole situation as well, but we appear getting closer to a resolution. Here's to better days of listening ahead!

For 15 years now Radio Rumpus Room has been broadcast Fridays at 9-10:30 p.m. on KFAI Fresh Air Radio, FM 90.3 Minneapolis and 106.7 St. Paul. The show streams live on the Internet; our RealAudio archives will return sometime in Februrary, fingers crossed. Thawed out from last week's 12th annual "Day The Surf Stood Still" mid-winter surf special, we dug into the stash of CDs and vinyl in the back bay of the Radio Rumpus Room garage. This is what we came up with.

The long-awaited CD reish of the "Hypstrization" LP (originally on Voxx) not only expanded the track list of the original recording, but added four Hypstrz performances from 2004. (Yes, the Hypstrz and the follow-on Batson brothers' band the Mighty Mofos still play frequently in the Twin Cities, as recently as last weekend.) This Trashmen/Gregory Dee & The Avanties/Rivingtons medley is one of those four contemporary tracks.
