Hey, it's not like we can't appreciate the physics-defying times today's NHRA pro teams are turning. It's just that we're really not all that interested. If you like your drag racing with a personality; if you think a bumper on the front of a '55 Chevy seems unnecessary; if you think a lot of rails would look better with a Fiat body hanging off the end of them; if you think you shouldn't need a decal to tell what make of car you're looking at; if you think wings belong on airplanes, not racecars -- well then this page is gonna be of interest to you.

All photos here taken at the 2001 Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park, Indianapolis, Indiana. We'll be posting tons of shots from past events at IRP, the 1999 Gateway Gasser Gathering in St. Louis, nostalgia action at National Trail Raceway in Ohio, and more. Action shots coming as well.

Mix'n'match Studebaker clips, add a blown 392 Chrysler and you've got... the "Hemi-Roid" Stude. Photo taken in the staging lanes at the Goodguys Hot Rod Nats at IRP.

One nasty sounding, rat-motored pumpkin of a Henry J.

A cool teardrop-hooded '55 Chev waits patiently next to a blown 409-powered '59 Belair sedan.

This '56 Nomad appears to have slipped past the restorers.
