I photographed this straight-front axle, tinted-plexiglas windowed '57 Chevy gasser at Great Lakes Dragaway, Union Grove, Wisconsin in 1973. To me, it encapsulates everything that is cool about hot rodding.

 

The Lake Street Surf & Drag site will always be a work in progress -- it's just MORE "in progress" at this early stage. The departments here are really only sketches of those to come, with this place getting fleshed out rapidly in the weeks to come. I welcome your thoughts, jibes, suggestions and contributions.
